01
True cut-contour nesting
Place assets according to their actual cut paths instead of treating every artwork as a rectangle. Set bleed, distance between assets, and clearance to registration marks parametrically for each job.
PRINTFLOW NEST
True cut-contour nesting with precise control over bleed, spacing, registration marks, board margins, and rotation—while preserving the production data your print workflow depends on.
Separately licensed. Managed through your company’s PrintFlow account.
THE PRODUCTION QUESTION
Rectangular bounding boxes leave usable material behind when the assets have irregular cut contours. PrintFlow Nest works from the real cut paths and gives the operator control over the parameters that turn a dense layout into a usable production result.
WHY PRINTFLOW NEST
01
Place assets according to their actual cut paths instead of treating every artwork as a rectangle. Set bleed, distance between assets, and clearance to registration marks parametrically for each job.
02
Registration-mark parameters are freely editable. There are no hardcoded margins forcing unused space around the board—the operator defines the production boundary the job requires.
03
Pass through spot colours for white, varnish, and neon inks, together with alpha channels, transparencies, and embedded colour profiles.
04
Export one PDF for printing and a separate PDF for cutting. Each production step receives a clear file containing the information it needs.
CONTROL THE TRADE-OFF
Use 90-degree rotation as the fast default. When tighter packing matters more than calculation time, enable free rotation to search for a denser result.
MORE THAN PLACEMENT
Create a cut path at the original dimensions and add a user-defined bleed by mirroring the image edges. The original finished size remains the cutting reference.
Save completed nests and load them again without recalculating the arrangement. Return to the exact result that was previously reviewed or approved.
Originally built for Summa workflows and expanded for Graphtec, Mimaki, Kongsberg, and Zünd equipment.
FROM ARTWORK TO PRODUCTION
Define bleed, spacing, registration-mark clearance, board margins, and the preferred rotation mode.
Nest the assets using their actual cut paths with either 90-degree or free rotation.
Check placement, board use, registration-mark clearance, and the print data that must remain intact.
Create separate print and cut PDFs, then save the nest so the exact arrangement can be loaded again.
NEST + QUOTE
PrintFlow Quote can read a file produced by Nest and populate the estimate with the nest data. The products remain separately licensed while working as a connected production process.
